"America's Celt" Red McWilliams - Singer

With 3 continents, 5 countries and at least 22 states to his credit, internationally known Celtic entertainer and recording artist Red McWilliams has taken the right steps to become one of the more recognized names in Celtic music, especially in the South and Southwest USA. Combining a percussive guitar with a rich baritone voice and a positive attitude has made the perfect blend of "entertainer", the fact of which has been proven to crowds at Scottish games and Celtic festivals throughout his travels. The range of songs in his repertoire from ballad to bawdy - historical to hysterical and his being awarded "Celtic Entertainer of the Year '97" by the Celtic Heritage Society of East Texas and the "Johnny Hailstones Entertainer of the Year '97" from the Scottish Clans of North Texas has helped contribute to this fact.

Red was both honored and humbled by being invited to perform at the Celtic Festival Japan '98 as only the second person ever invited from the USA and has been proud to represent his Scottish and Irish heritage through entertainment in his performances whether at Highland Games, Celtic Festivals, programs in school districts, libraries or wherever throughout North America and abroad.
